ORTHOPEDICS & ORTHOSES

Orthopedics is the field of medicine concerned with the treatment of the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine, bones, nerves, ligaments, joints and muscles. They mainly deal with the correction or prevention of disorders and deformities. Non-surgical orthopedics offer medical treatments, physical therapy and rehabilitation whether the patient suffers from an acute injury or a long-term condition. Products are designed to relieve pain in specific parts of the body and help the patient move comfortably. Products therefore mainly include braces, supports, collars, and other necessities that involve generally the treatment of the neck, back, elbow, wrist, waist, knee, and foot care.

Orthotics is a specialty within the medical field concerned with the design, manufacture and application of orthoses. An orthosis is an externally applied device used to modify the structural and functional characteristics of the neuromuscular and skeletal system. It can be used to control, guide limit and/or immobilize a body segment, restrict movement in a given direction, assist movement generally, reduce weight bearing forces for a particular purpose, aid rehabilitation. Hence its main purpose is correct the shape and/or function of the body, provide easier movement capability or reduce pain.

In general orthopedics and orthotics have a main objective of immobilizing, supporting, preventing injuries and thereby providing total care. This in turn leads to pain relief, recovery and often rehabilitation.  Products are easily to wear and take off so that even the elderly can use them effortlessly. To contribute to their functionality, the products are made of harmless material with excellent ventilation and elasticity.
